This injectable gel filler, is a “next generation” dermal filler that has been FDA approved for treatment in the areas of the nasolabial folds. JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration.
As a non-surgical procedure, our physicians gently eases JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel under the skin into the mid to deep dermis layer of skin of the face to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, “smile lines”, or “parentheses” (nasolabial folds – the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). Unlike many collagen-based dermal fillers, JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel provides a smooth, natural, noticeable look and feel.
There are different types of JUVEDERM® Injectable Gels and Drs Laukaitis and Sires will discuss which areas will bring the best results to your face. The most common areas where JUVEDERM® Injectable Gel is used are:
- Nasolabial folds (the lines between the corners of the mouth and to the corners of the nose) Juvederm® has received FDA approval for treatment of this region.
Other areas that have been proven for safe and effective off label use for Juvederm® are:
- Lips
- Marionette lines (the vertical lines just below the lip corners)
- Tear trough (area below the eyelid that looks like a dark circle)
