Why Get A Brow Lift?
It’s all about aging.
As skin ages, it loses collagen. As a result, skin’s elasticity declines as well. This is part of the natural aging process and the cause of things commonly associated with aged skin such as sagging, wrinkles, and fine lines. Natural aging makes the face droop all over, and your brows are no exception. As we get older the “tail” (or outside part) of our eyebrows start to droop first. Drooping eyebrows can give eyes a hooded, tired, and heavy look, making us feel tired and look older than we are.
A brow lift aims to raise the “tail” of the brow back to where it sits naturally.
Getting a brow lift can open up the face, brighten the eyes, and boost your confidence!
Prepping for your brow lift
There are a few things you can expect before you come in. Once you decide to have a brow lift done with Allure Laser Center and Medispa you’ll talk to one of your knowledgeable staff members about the procedure. You can expect to undergo a short physical exam to access the best treatment option for you. This could include having measurements and photos taken of your eyes, both open and shut.
You also may be asked to discuss medical history. This includes any past conditions you may have and any allergies you have to medication. This helps give us a fuller picture of you so that we can properly craft a procedure that will suit you and your needs best.
During this time we’ll also go over expectations for your brow lift. This will help you get a clear picture of all the benefits associated with this procedure, as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have about risk.
What to Expect
The surgeons at Allure Laser Center and MediSpa have several techniques they can use to address drooping brows, tailoring their approach to each client’s appearance and anatomy. Techniques include camouflaging the incision just behind or just in front of the hair line.
Surgery is performed under local anesthesia delivered through an IV. Allure’s facilities feature a fully certified outpatient surgery center onsite where we can perform brow lift surgery.
After the procedure you will receive instructions from your doctor about how to care for your incisions. Typically, the first few days will consist of rest, cold compresses, and decreased activity to avoid pressure or motion that could irritate your incisions.
You may experience some itchiness and numbness which should decrease over time. If your incisions are bandaged, you’ll likely have them removed within three days post-op. Sutures (stitches) should be removed within 10 days.
If you have any questions about what you can and can’t do immediately following surgery, ask your doctor.
